Tribal leader and coal mine owner martyred in terrorist attack near Quetta
In a deadly terrorist attack near Quetta, tribal leader and coal mine owner Sardar Abdul Salam Bazai along with his brother Abdul Nafi Bazai were martyred in a bomb explosion, while six others were injured.
According to police, around 200 armed militants affiliated with Fitna-e-Hindustan launched a sudden attack on coal mines near Hanna Orak Kali Mangal area, a suburb of Quetta. The attackers set fire to the mines and the equipment present there.
Upon receiving news of the assault, mine owners rushed to the site. A gun battle ensued between the owners and the militants. As the militants retreated towards the mountains, they planted explosive devices along their path. When the mine owners pursued them, one of the planted bombs detonated with force, killing Sardar Abdul Salam Bazai and his brother Abdul Nafi Bazai on the spot, and injuring six of their companions.
Security officials confirmed that the bodies and injured were immediately shifted to the hospital. The martyrs were identified as Abdul Salam, son of Abdullah Jan, and Abdul Nafi, son of Abdullah Jan, both residents of Kali Mangal, Huna, from the Kakar Bazai tribe. The injured were named as Janan, Saif ur Rehman, Samiullah, Muhammad Asif, and Naseebullah.
Following the incident, a large contingent of security forces arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and initiated a search operation to apprehend the fleeing militants.
