PTI ramps up preparations for protest, plans to set up ‘tent village’ on Haripur mountains
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has begun preparations for its protest campaign following a call by former Prime Minister Imran Khan, deciding to set up a “tent village” in the mountains of Haripur instead of Swabi.
According to party sources who spoke to Aaj News, the change of location is due to weather conditions and the distance from Islamabad. Each district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will have its own designated zone within the camp.
Preparations are underway to provide food, water, and sanitation for participants. In addition to collecting funds locally from each district, the party is also considering seeking support from overseas Pakistanis through a central funding mechanism.
Party insiders say logistical and organisational planning may take two to three weeks to complete.
