Peshawar police register FIR against PPP following arson attack on PTI camp
The police in Peshawar have registered a First Information Report (FIR) at the Sharqi Police Station in Peshawar following an arson attack on a camp set up to support the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan.
Engineer Muhammad Arif filed the complaint, stating that unidentified individuals set the camp on fire, destroying valuable items.
He said he was alerted to the incident via a phone call, and soon after, videos of the blaze began circulating on social media.
According to the FIR, the attackm on Monday was allegedly carried out on the orders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) provincial president Muhammad Ali Bacha and the party’s general secretary.
The report named several individuals, including Malik Azmat, Ziaullah Afridi, Humayun Khan, Zulqarnain, and Ehsan, who were reportedly seen in video footage actively participating in the act.
The FIR further stated that the attackers also burned PTI flags and caused panic in the area. Police have launched an investigation and are currently reviewing video evidence to identify and arrest those involved.

PTI has recently taken an aggressive posture after showing goodwill to the government during the Indo-Pak tensions.
On May 16, the party decided to launch a full-scale anti-government campaign, aimed at securing the release of Khan and mobilizing public support across the country.
However, on May 19, the PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram stated that the party requires time to mobilize before taking to the streets, hinting at the protest.
In a related development, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Khan’s three sisters resolved the conflict in a meeting on May 19.
