The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has explained that the ban on children’s entry for Hajj 2025 is intended to address the growing crowds during the pilgrimage and ensure the safety of children.

Despite receiving an additional quota of 10,000 Hajj permits this year, 67,000 pilgrims under the private Hajj scheme will still be unable to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

In February, Saudi Arabia announced significant changes for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage, including a prohibition on children accompanying pilgrims, according to media reports.

The decision was made to enhance safety amid the substantial crowding that characterized the annual event, as stated by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
