Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Tuesday expressed hope that PTI founder Imran Khan would be released from jail before Eid, stating that the legal team was optimistic about the case being fixed soon.

Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court, Barrister Gohar said it was understandable for party workers to raise questions regarding the prolonged incarceration of the PTI founder. He said no one could imagine why Imran Khan had spent nearly two years in jail, adding that the workers had grown weary of the ongoing situation.

He urged PTI supporters to remain composed, saying the party was making every possible effort for the release of its founder. “We have staged protests and raised our voice in the assemblies,” he stated, adding that Imran Khan had advised the party to place their trust in Allah. “We worship Allah, we seek His help, and we believe He will show us the way,” he quoted Khan as saying.

The PTI chairman said he hoped the court would fix the cases soon and deliver judgments on merit. “Even the judges seem exhausted from writing repeated verdicts,” he remarked. He emphasised that the party’s priority was to secure justice for Imran Khan and bring an end to what he termed as unwarranted political victimisation.
