Sharif schedules to hold important meeting with Iranian president

Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif is traveling to Iran from Turkiye today as part of his four-country tour. Sources indicate that he was expected to arrive in Tehran this afternoon, where he will receive a warm welcome.

During his visit, Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled to hold an important meeting with the Iranian president, focusing on bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and regional security. Diplomatic sources suggest that the Prime Minister will also brief Iran on the recent tensions with India and the overall situation in the region.

The Pakistani delegation will stay in Tehran tonight and will proceed to the next phase of their tour after various high-level meetings. Government sources state that the aim of this four-country tour is to promote peace and stability in the region, enhance economic cooperation, and give new direction to Pakistan’s diplomatic relations.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is visiting Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan from May 25 to 30, where he will engage in extensive discussions with the leaders of these countries on bilateral relations and matters of regional and international significance.

Prime Minister Sharif met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on May 25, during which both leaders reviewed all aspects of their bilateral relations, reaffirmed their commitment to elevate the strategic partnership, and expressed principled support regarding the Kashmir issue.

The Prime Minister also thanked friendly countries for their support to Pakistan during the recent crisis with India.

Furthermore, it is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will participate in an international conference on glaciers in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on May 29 and 30.
