Security forces eliminated nine Indian-sponsored terrorists in three separate intelligence-based operations carried out across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), according to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, ISPR, on Sunday.

The operations were conducted on May 24 and 25 in Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, and the Khyber districts, where a series of gun battles took place following credible intelligence regarding the presence of armed militants.

ISPR said that four Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed in an intense exchange of fire in Dera Ismail Khan, adding that the operation was launched based on information about the terrorists’ hideout.

In a separate operation in the Tank district, two more terrorists affiliated with Indian-backed groups were killed in an exchange of fire with security personnel.

The third operation was conducted in the Bagh area of Khyber district, where three terrorists from the group designated as “Fitna al-Khawarij” were eliminated.

According to the ISPR, a significant cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the slain militants, who were reportedly involved in various acts of terrorism in the region.

“Security forces have launched extensive sanitisation operations to eliminate any remaining elements of the terrorist networks,” the ISPR stated. “The Pakistan Army remains resolute in its mission to root out terrorism, especially that sponsored by hostile foreign entities like India.”
