Qureshi discharged from hospital, moved back to Kot Lakhpat Jail
Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been discharged from Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) in Lahore and transferred back to Kot Lakhpat Jail under heavy police presence.
Qureshi had been receiving treatment at PIC for the past eight days due to cardiac issues. Sources say doctors decided to discharge him two days ago after medical evaluation. However, his family and legal team strongly opposed the decision.
His lawyer Rana Mudasir said Qureshi’s blood pressure and heart rate were still elevated, and several key medical test reports were still pending. He questioned how a discharge could be justified without the complete medical record, warning that Qureshi’s condition was not fully stable and that rushing his return to jail could endanger his health.
Family members also expressed concern, alleging that risks to his health were being ignored and that attempts were being made to prematurely move him back to prison.
It is worth noting that Qureshi was initially transferred from Kot Lakhpat Jail to the hospital a few days ago due to cardiac discomfort and was placed under medical supervision.
