At least 3 killed as car plunges into canal in Lahore
A car plunged into a canal in Johar Town, Lahore, on Tuesday, killing three people.
Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene as soon as they received the emergency call and immediately began rescue operations.
Divers successfully recovered the bodies of all three victims from the water.
Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident.
Initial reports did not clarify whether the car veered into the canal due to a mechanical failure or driver negligence.

Last year, at least four people were killed and four injured when a jeep plunged into a deep ravine in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Shangla.
Also, in 2023, at least 41 passengers were killed and four were injured when a Karachi-bound passenger van plunged off a bridge on the highway of Bela in Lasbela, Balochistan.
Moreover, a police van carrying a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and three other officers plunged into a ditch near Ghenoian Mor in Kotli Sattian, Rawalpindi, due to speeding, resulting in injuries to all four occupants.
