A couple travelling to court to formalise their marriage was gunned down on Sunday near Tharri Mohabbat in Manghi Ja Bhan, Mehar.

Police said the ambush stemmed from a simmering feud between the Janwari and Solangi clans.

Sapna Janwari and Khalid Solangi died at the scene, while Mashooq Solangi was critically injured and taken to Taluka Hospital Mehar along with the victims’ bodies.

Investigators stated that Khalid had eloped with Sapna four days earlier, prompting relatives to open fire as the pair headed to court. A police probe is under way.
