The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed its approval of the recent ceasefire between Pakistan and India, emphasizing that all disputes, including the Kashmir issue, should be resolved through dialogue.

In an official statement, the OIC praised the halt in hostilities that began on May 6, highlighting that the ceasefire was facilitated by the intervention of the United States and other nations on May 10.

The organization commended all parties involved in achieving this outcome.

The OIC reiterated its stance that lasting peace in South Asia depends on negotiating resolutions to all long-standing conflicts, particularly the Kashmir dispute.

A spokesperson called for serious efforts at both regional and global levels to de-escalate tensions and urged all parties to exercise patience to avoid further loss of life.

On May 6, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) dismissed the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) statement concerning the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, describing it as “absurd and misguided.” The MEA further accused Pakistan of manipulating the OIC to make comments that India views as interference in its internal affairs.
