In a bid to enhance the province’s emergency response capabilities, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has initiated a series of mock drills involving Civil Defence and Rescue 1122 teams.

The drills aim to ensure a quick, efficient, and coordinated reaction to unforeseen disasters or emergencies.

A spokesperson for the Chief Minister confirmed that the Civil Defence Department has been fully activated, with exercises currently underway in both major and minor cities of Punjab.

The CM has directed district administrations to closely monitor the drills to evaluate their effectiveness.

Rescue 1122 has also launched mock exercises in several cities to improve the practical skills of its personnel through hands-on training.

Drills are being conducted in cities such as Rawalpindi, Murree, Jhelum, Chakwal, Sargodha, Narowal, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Vehari, and more.
