Punjab police chief orders province-wide security boost amid border tensions
The Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police, Usman Anwar, has ordered increased security across the province, including Lahore, due to the current border situation.
Anwar has stated that the Punjab Police is on high alert, ready to respond, and has completed all operational, strategic, and logistical preparations.
He said that the police are working closely with the district administration, civil defense, Rescue 1122, and other security agencies.
Moreover, he assured that the Punjab Police will maintain law and order and carry out relief operations during any emergency.
The police have strengthened security at all key and sensitive locations, including inter-provincial border check posts.
They are closely monitoring terrorists and disruptive elements to protect the province’s internal borders.
Anwar also added that the Punjab Police stands firmly with the armed forces and will act as a strong defense against any threat.
He further assured that all Regional Police Officers (RPOs), District Police Officers (DPOs), and other officers have received instructions based on the official war preparedness plan.
