Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in New Delhi on Thursday as part of an official visit aimed at engaging with Indian leadership on regional developments.

During his trip, Araghchi is expected to hold a key meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

The visit comes shortly after Araghchi concluded a diplomatic mission to Pakistan earlier this week, during which Iran offered to mediate between Islamabad and New Delhi in an effort to de-escalate rising tensions.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has also expressed concern over the ongoing strain between the two South Asian neighbors.

In a recent statement, Trump offered to assist in peace efforts and urged both countries to exercise restraint to avoid further deterioration of the situation.
