Ishaq Dar says Pakistan proved its stance of not initiating war with India
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said on Wednesday that Pakistan has shown the world it did not start the conflict with India.
“We told the nation and the world that we would not initiate war, and we have proven that,” he stated during a media talk.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar said that Pakistan had proven its commitment to peace by not initiating the conflict with India.
He stated that the government had assured both the nation and the international community that it would not start a war, and recent events had shown that Pakistan kept its word.
Moreover, he shared that the Pakistan Air Force had engaged with 75 to 80 Indian jets for nearly an hour.
Despite the scale of the encounter, Pakistan focused only on defense and restraint, saying that the response remained limited and aimed at preventing escalation.
Dar mentioned that the Air Force shot down five Indian fighter jets while acting defensively. He added that if full permission had been granted, the Air Force could have downed many more.
He praised the unity and support shown by the Pakistani people, saying the nation stood firmly behind the armed forces during this difficult time.
Dar stated that all institutions, including the Army and Air Force, remained on high alert throughout the Indian assault.
Dar said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was actively handling diplomatic efforts.
He noted that Pakistan had informed the Turkish Foreign Minister in time and also briefed the Chinese ambassador and Italy’s Interior Minister on the situation.
He added that the Foreign Office had sent a formal letter to the President of the UN Security Council, and Pakistan had clearly explained its position to the international community.
