Indian forces target Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project with heavy shelling in Azad Kashmir

Attack caused severe damage to intake gates of de-sander unit

Security sources have reported that around 2:00am, Indian forces carried out intense shelling on the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project located in Noseri, Azad Kashmir.

The Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) confirmed that the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project came under attack last night in a press conference on Wednesday morning.

Sources stated that the shelling targeted the intake structure of the Noseri Dam on the Neelum River.

The attack caused severe damage to the intake gates of the de-sander unit and also struck a vital protection unit of the hydraulic system.

Additionally, an ambulance used for emergency medical services in the area was also damaged.
