At the behest of Pakistan: India dismisses OIC statement as ‘absurd and misguided’
In a recent development, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has rejected the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) statement regarding the Pahalgam terror attack, labelling it “absurd and misguided.”
The indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) accused Pakistan of influencing the OIC to state that India perceives as interference in its internal affairs.
“The OIC statement, issued at the behest of Pakistan, is absurd in refusing to recognise the acts of the Pahalgam terrorist attack and its cross-border linkages. This is yet another attempt by Pakistan, a country that has long engaged in cross-border terrorism, to manipulate and misguide the OIC Group to issue a self-serving statement. We reject the OIC’s interference in matters that are internal to India,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a statement on Tuesday.
The OIC had expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in South Asia, particularly criticising India’s allegations against Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack that resulted in 26 fatalities. The organisation emphasised the need to avoid linking terrorism to any specific country, race, religion, culture, or nationality.

Pakistan has consistently maintained that it had no involvement in the Pahalgam incident and has called for a neutral investigation to ascertain the facts. Islamabad has also warned of credible intelligence suggesting potential Indian military action, urging for de-escalation and emphasising its recent economic recovery.
The United States has intervened diplomatically, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio urging both nations to exercise restraint. While India has taken punitive measures, including suspending a water treaty and expelling Pakistani nationals, Pakistan has responded by test-firing a surface-to-surface ballistic missile, signalling its military readiness.
The situation remains volatile, with both nations on high alert and cross-border skirmishes reported. The international community continues to advocate for dialogue and peaceful resolution to prevent further escalation in a region already fraught with tension.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also offered a “neutral and transparent” investigation into the incident.

Pakistan’s government, opposition and army are on the same page to defend the nation against all sorts of baseless and fabricated allegations. DG ISPR also exposed India of perpetrating terrorist activities in Pakistan’s Balochistan and supporting non-state actors to carry out violent acts.
India’s victim card is no more valid as the International community also recognises Pakistan’s stance and asks both countries to remain calm and open for dialogue to ensure stability and peace in the region.
