The Indian government’s growing war hysteria is now instilling fear among its own citizens. The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed all states across the country to conduct nationwide blackout and air raid preparedness drills on May 7.

According to Indian media reports, the Ministry has ordered simulated civil defence exercises that include air raid siren testing and citizen training on emergency protocols. These drills aim to prepare civilians, including students, to respond in the event of a hostile attack.

The exercise will activate blackout protocols and camouflage procedures nationwide. The drills are scheduled to be held simultaneously in all Indian states.

In one such instance, the Firozpur cantonment area in Punjab underwent a 30-minute blackout rehearsal. During this time, the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) cut off electricity, while continuous sirens were sounded to simulate an air raid scenario.
