Pakistan briefs political leadership on India tensions, PTI abstains
Amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India, Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar and Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, conducted a high-level briefing for political party leaders on the prevailing national security situation.
The briefing took place at the Pakistan Television (PTV) headquarters and was attended by leaders from all major political parties — except Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which declined the invitation. PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram confirmed receiving the invitation but stated the party would not participate.
The session aimed to inform political leadership about the current state of national security, Pakistan’s defensive preparedness, diplomatic engagements, and the state’s official stance amid growing hostility from India.
Officials described the briefing as a “symbol of national unity and cohesion” during a time of heightened regional tensions.

Ishaq Dar: “India Creating Tensions to Distract From Failures”
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar condemned India’s escalating rhetoric, stating that the regional peace is under threat due to New Delhi’s actions. He reiterated Pakistan’s consistent position against terrorism in all forms and emphasized that no cause justifies terrorism.
Citing the Quranic verse — “Whoever kills one innocent person, it is as if he has killed all of humanity” — Dar reminded the press that Pakistan itself has suffered immensely from terrorism, with over $150 billion in economic losses and countless lives lost.
He accused India of using terrorism as a tool to distract from internal security failures and its ongoing oppression of Kashmiris, including the use of draconian laws. “Instead of addressing its own issues, India blames others. This isn’t the first time,” he said.
