India failed to share evidence on Pahalgam attack with Pakistan, says PM Shehbaz
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a meeting with the Ambassador of Turkiye, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, said India has failed to provide any evidence linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam incident and continues to make unfounded allegations, state run news agency APP reported on Saturday.
During the meeting at the Prime Minister House on May 3, 2025, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for Turkiye’s clear and strong message of support to Pakistan during the current regional crisis.
Reflecting on his recent visit to Ankara, the Prime Minister underscored the enduring and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkiye. He thanked Turkiye for advocating peace and appreciated its principled stance in urging regional de-escalation.
Referring to the Pahalgam incident, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif noted that India had taken provocative and unilateral actions without sharing any credible evidence with Pakistan. He emphasized that India continues to falsely implicate Pakistan without proof.
The Prime Minister further highlighted that Pakistan had formally offered to cooperate in a credible, transparent, and neutral international investigation, yet India had not responded to the proposal.
He invited Turkiye to be part of such a process, reaffirming Pakistan’s readiness to fully cooperate in uncovering the truth behind the Pahalgam attack.
Pakistan’s sacrifices and path to economic recovery
Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s strong condemnation of terrorism in all forms and reminded the ambassador that Pakistan had lost over 90,000 lives and suffered economic losses exceeding USD 152 billion in its counter-terrorism fight.
He warned that India’s baseless accusations risk diverting Pakistan’s attention from this critical national effort.
The Prime Minister concluded by affirming his government’s commitment to economic recovery, which, he stressed, requires a peaceful regional environment.
Ambassador Neziroglu conveyed Turkiye’s appreciation for Pakistan’s responsible approach and reaffirmed Turkiye’s solidarity with Pakistan, urging all sides to act with restraint and prioritize regional stability.
