Pakistan successfully carried out a training launch of the Abdali Weapon System, a surface-to-surface missile with a range of 450 kilometers, on Saturday as part of Exercise INDUS.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the launch aimed to assess the operational preparedness of the troops.

Also, ISPR stated that it aimed to verify crucial technical aspects, including the missile’s advanced navigation system and improved maneuverability features.

During the training test, senior officials from the Commander of Army Strategic Forces Command, Strategic Plans Division, Army Strategic Forces, as well as scientists and engineers from Pakistan’s strategic organizations, were present.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and the heads of the armed forces congratulated the troops, scientists, and engineers involved in the exercise.

They expressed full confidence in Pakistan’s strategic forces’ operational readiness and technical expertise, reaffirming the country’s commitment to maintaining a credible minimum defense capability to counter any aggression.
