Indian forces have intensified their crackdown in occupied Jammu and Kashmir following the Pahalgam false flag operation, destroying homes of innocent civilians in the Pulwama district, with alarming new figures highlighting the scale of violence in April alone.

According to international media reports, Indian troops martyred nine Kashmiris last month as part of ongoing state terrorism. Research data released by the Kashmir Media Service revealed that three of the victims were either killed in fake encounters or died in custody.

These killings left one woman widowed and five children orphaned.

During April, Indian forces — including the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Special Operations Group (SOG), and notorious intelligence agencies such as the NIA, CIK, and SIA — arrested at least 2,480 civilians. Most of those detained were political activists, youth, traders, and students.

In a particularly deadly incident near the tourist site of Baisaran in Pahalgam (district Anantnag), 25 non-Kashmiris and one local were shot dead, while 15 others were injured.

These figures underscore the escalating repression in the region and the collective punishment being inflicted on innocent civilians under the guise of security operations.

Throughout the month, Indian forces destroyed or severely damaged 36 residential homes. A total of 322 cordon-and-search operations, house raids, and crackdowns were conducted, resulting in killings, arrests, and widespread destruction.

According to reports, Indian troops demolished a residential house using explosives, leaving the affected family devastated. A woman from the family said, “My brother’s wedding was just ten days away, and now our home has been turned into rubble. The world must witness the destruction we Kashmiris are enduring.”

She further likened the attack to Israeli-style military operations in Palestine, stating, “Our homes were destroyed just like the Israeli forces do in Gaza.”

An elderly man from the targeted household recounted the horror: “The army arrived at 7pm and ordered us to leave. They detained us inside a mosque until 10pm. When we returned at midnight, our house was nothing but ruins.”

Another woman from the neighbourhood described the explosion as resembling an earthquake. “Our children fainted in terror. The blast also damaged 15 nearby homes, causing massive loss,” she said.

A local man expressed despair over the situation, questioning who would now help the affected family. “Even neighbours are too afraid to offer support. Everyone is living in fear.”

Another resident remarked that Indian forces use every false flag operation as an excuse to unleash collective punishment on innocent Kashmiri Muslims. “They are following the Israeli model of repression in occupied Kashmir,” he added.
