Indian fans react as Pakistani dramas face ban following Pahalgam attack
Indian fans have shown disappointment on social media pages as Pakistani entertainment channels, including HUM TV, ARY Digital, and Geo Entertainment, have been banned in India following Pahalgam attack.
This means that Indian fans can no longer watch their favorite Pakistani dramas or access the social media pages of their beloved celebrities.
The recent restrictions come in the wake of a broader crackdown that included the banning of 16 Pakistani YouTube channels and several news platforms, following the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian-administered Kashmir.
The attack, which resulted in 26 deaths, has been blamed by India on Pakistan—a claim Pakistan has strongly denied.
Meanwhile, social media platform X (formerly Twitter) was flooded with posts from disappointed users, many sharing screenshots of the access error messages they encountered.
One user wrote that “how will I spend my free time as Pakistani dramas are banned.”

Another user talked about how Indian government has banned Pakistani players and dramas with stating that Pakistani cinemas are playing Indian Punjabi movies in cinemas as well.

Another user have downloaded all episodes of Pakistani drama “Meem se Mohabbat,” expressing gratitude for downloading them.

Some users made wry jokes about needing VPNs to continue watching shows like Humraaz, while others vented their frustration at the producers of HUM TV.
