Hate campaign intensifies in India as Muslims face violence
A surge in anti-Muslim hate campaigns and violence has been reported across India following the alleged false flag operation in Pahalgam.
According to sources, Muslims in states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Uttarakhand are increasingly becoming targets of physical attacks and threats by Hindu extremists, with open support from BJP members who are backing hate speeches against the community.
Reports indicate that the dissemination of hateful content aims to justify violence against Muslims. In one disturbing incident in Agra, a Muslim man was murdered, with the attacker claiming it was “revenge” for the Pahalgam attack. Since April 22, there have been at least 21 reported cases of violence, threats, and hate speech targeting Muslims across India.
The Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) stated that Hindu extremists are deliberately targeting Muslim traders and workers in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane openly called for an economic boycott of Muslims, urging the public to “buy only from Hindus.”

In another alarming case, a Muslim restaurant employee in Uttar Pradesh was killed, with attackers citing a chilling motive: “2,600 deaths in return for 26.”
Furthermore, Kashmiri and Indian Muslim students are reportedly being labelled as “terrorists” across various institutions. Students residing in hostels in Kashmir face threats and assaults, while incidents of harassment against Muslim women are also on the rise.
Sources added that the Pahalgam operation has triggered a coordinated campaign of hate, violence, and social exclusion against Muslims throughout India, with fears growing of further escalation.
