Turkey exposes Indian media’s baseless claims about defense cooperation
A new wave of traditional blame and unfounded allegations from New Delhi has been challenged, this time by Turkey.
Indian media has attempted to cast a negative light on the defense cooperation between Pakistan, Turkey, and China, claiming that these nations are allegedly supplying weapons to Pakistan for potential conflict with India.
Reports from Indian media and social media accounts asserted that a Turkish Air Force C-130E Hercules aircraft landed in Karachi on April 28, supposedly carrying weapons. Some commentators even claimed that six Turkish fighter jets had also arrived in Pakistan, an assertion that has been labeled completely unfounded.
The Turkish Presidential Directorate of Communications quickly dismissed these claims, clarifying that the aircraft was in Pakistan solely for refueling before proceeding to its next destination. They advised against trusting information from unauthorized sources.
Pakistan’s security sources also refuted the allegations made by Indian media. Following the failure of this propaganda campaign, Indian media and government officials appear disoriented, fearing possible retaliatory actions from Pakistan.
They are struggling to accept that Pakistan’s defense allies, Turkey and China, are openly supporting Pakistan, particularly concerning the Kashmir issue.
In a recent meeting, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reaffirmed Turkey’s support for United Nations-supervised negotiations on Kashmir, emphasizing Turkey’s commitment to the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. Reports of China providing Pakistan with the long-range PL-15 missile have further unsettled Indian media.
The ongoing defense cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey, which began in 2021, has raised alarms in India. Turkish drones, such as the Bayraktar TB2 and Akinci, have become essential to Pakistan’s defense strategy, effectively utilized for both internal security and regional operations.
Pakistan and Turkey are collaborating on the fifth-generation fighter jet KAAN, along with new-generation missiles, anti-tank weapons, submarines, and naval vessels.

India is particularly concerned about Pakistan strengthening its military partnerships with key Muslim countries, which is based on both defense and ideological alignment.
Defense experts suggest that India’s growing fear of Pakistan’s ties with Turkey and China has led it to frame minor incidents as conspiracies of war. However, the reality remains that Pakistan, as a sovereign nation, has the right to seek defense collaboration with any country it chooses.
The primary aim of this false propaganda appears to be to tarnish Pakistan’s global image and diminish its rising influence in the Islamic world. Nevertheless, experts believe India’s efforts will likely fail once again, as has been the pattern in the past.
