Enraged residents in the Garden area protested outside the K-Electric office, hurling stones in response to a power outage that lasted over 20 hours.

Frustrated by the prolonged electricity suspension and the company’s lack of response, the crowd gathered to voice their grievances. Demonstrators chanted slogans and targeted the building with stones, expressing their anger over the situation.

Local residents reported that power had been cut since 6am on Sunday, and despite numerous complaints, K-Electric failed to take any meaningful action, exacerbating public outrage.

The protesters emphasized that the company had ignored their concerns, leaving the neighborhood in distress without electricity for more than twenty hours.

In a separate incident, the energy ministry announced that the power transmission system was fully restored across the country by 9pm on Thursday, nearly 12 hours after a significant power breakdown.

The ministry reported that the issue, which originated in two 500kV lines south of Karachi, was resolved, and electricity supply is being boosted from alternative power plants, with a return to normal expected by Friday morning.

However, as of Friday morning, at least 27 districts in Balochistan remained without basic utility services.
