The Government of India has banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels based on recommendations from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

This action follows the dissemination of provocative and communally sensitive content, as well as false narratives about India, its military, and security agencies, particularly in the context of the recent Pahalgam terror incident in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Among the banned channels are those of major news organizations such as

  • Geo News, Dawn
  • Raftar, Bol News
  • ARY News
  • Samaa TV
  • Suno News.

Additionally, well-known journalists like Muneeb Farooq, Umar Cheema, Asma Shirazi, and Irshad Bhatti have also had their channels blocked.

Other affected channels include Uzair Cricket, The Pakistan Reference, Razi Naama, and Samaa Sports.

Collectively, these channels had amassed a total of 63 million subscribers.
