Sindh govt announces public holiday
The Sindh government has declared a public holiday across the province on May 1 (Thursday) in observance of International Labour Day.
According to an official notification, all government and semi-government offices will remain closed on the day.
Educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, will also remain shut in connection with the holiday.
Labour Day is observed annually to honour the contributions of workers and to highlight their rights. Various events and rallies are expected to take place across Sindh in solidarity with the working class.
Various rallies and gatherings are expected across Sindh, particularly in Karachi, where trade unions and workers’ associations are likely to organise events demanding better labour laws, minimum wage enforcement, and improved working conditions.
