Defence minister warns of nuclear war if India launches attack
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has warned that any Indian aggression will be met with a proportionate response, stating that a Pakistan-India conflict could escalate into a full-scale war.
He urged the global community to take serious note of the threat of direct confrontation between two nuclear-armed nations.
In an interview with British broadcaster Sky News, Asif rejected New Delhi’s allegations of Pakistan’s involvement in the recent attack in Pahalgam, terming it a “false flag operation” by India.
“Just as the attack, so will be the response,” Asif said, adding that the Pakistan Army is fully prepared for any eventuality amid growing tensions and diplomatic strains between the two countries.

Referring to the Pahalgam incident, where 26 tourists were killed in a gun attack earlier this week, Asif categorically denied Pakistan’s role and called the Indian claim baseless and politically motivated.
He cautioned that any Indian adventurism would be met with a strong and calibrated response. “If there is a full-scale attack, there will be a full-scale war,” he said.
Asif further warned that any conflict between Pakistan and India would have catastrophic consequences. However, he expressed hope that diplomacy and dialogue would prevail to resolve the tensions.
