JUI-F announces million marches in major cities to support Palestine
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has announced a series of million marches in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta to show solidarity with the people of Palestine. He warned that if provinces are denied their rights, JUI-F will stand firmly with them.
The JUI-F chief announced the schedule for the upcoming million marches: April 27 in Lahore, May 11 in Peshawar, May 15 in Quetta, and a recent major rally already held in Karachi. He urged Pakistanis to support Palestine through financial contributions and public activism, reaffirming the party’s stance on the illegitimacy of Israel and its war crimes.
He condemned the global silence on Israel’s actions, saying that the International Court of Justice has issued arrest warrants for Israeli leaders, but the U.S. and European nations continue to ignore the ruling.

Fazlur Rehman’s call for free, fair and transparent elections
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Fazlur Rehman said the government has completely failed to protect the lives and property of citizens. He lashed out at what he called “selected governments” formed through rigged elections, both in the centre and provinces, saying they have failed to address public grievances or maintain law and order.
He reiterated JUI-F’s longstanding rejection of the 2018 elections and said the same position applies to the 2024 polls. “We do not consider these assemblies as true representatives of the people,” he stated, adding that Pakistan needs free, fair, and transparent elections.

Security situation in Balochistan and KP, provincial rights
Fazlur Rehman said the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Sindh has become alarming, with armed groups roaming freely and citizens unable to send their children to school or conduct business without fear. He blamed the government for zero performance in tackling the deteriorating law and order.
Fazlur Rehman also criticized the federal government for neglecting provincial rights and warned that JUI-F will take to the streets if this continues. He noted that while there is no formal opposition alliance yet, his party remains open to joint action with other religious and political groups to protect democratic values and public interest.
