How to apply for NA Parliamentary Internship Programme

The National Assembly of Pakistan has invited applications for its six-week Parliamentary Internship Programme, commencing in June 2025.

This program has provided young graduates with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in parliamentary operations.

Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for this is as follows:

  • Applicants must have completed at least 14 years of education from a Higher Education Commission (HEC)-recognized institution.
  • Those enrolled in four-year undergraduate programs are eligible after completing two years (or four semesters).
  • Master’s students may also apply.
  • Eligible academic backgrounds include: Law, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Commerce, HR, IT, Agriculture, Media Studies, and Social Sciences, among others.
  • Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0.
  • The maximum age limit is 30 years.
  • Students and graduates from remote or underrepresented areas, including: Balochistan, Southern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

Work

  • Selected interns will work full-time for six weeks, five days a week, for a minimum of eight hours per day.
  • They will undergo a 3–5 day orientation at the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS) in Islamabad.
  • Interns will be assigned to various departments of the National Assembly.
  • Participants will gain insight into:
    1. Legislative research
    2. Public policy
    3. Parliamentary procedures
  • Interns are expected to maintain at least 85% attendance.
  • Interns should observe a formal dress code.
  • Also, they should remain non-partisan during the program.

  • Interested candidates must apply online only.
  • Required documents include:
    1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    2. Attested CNIC/NICOP copy
    3. Attested academic transcript or degree
    4. Photograph
    5. Internship letter from university
  • No applications will be accepted via email, post, or in person.
  • Incomplete forms or missing documents will lead to disqualification.
  • The application deadline is 30 April 2025.
