‘Permits should be denied to Chingchi manufacturers’ LHC remarks
The Lahore High Court has remarked that companies manufacturing Chingchi rickshaws should be shut down, stating that no further permits should be granted to their factories.
The observation came during the hearing of a case related to environmental pollution.
The court expressed concern over the role of Chingchi rickshaws in contributing to air pollution and raised serious questions about the unchecked operations of their manufacturers.
During the same hearing, the court also directed authorities to relocate protesters from Lahore’s Mall Road, citing increased traffic disruptions due to demonstrations in the area.
The court remarked that the presence of protestors on main roads has worsened traffic issues, adding to the daily hardships faced by commuters.
