Following a continuous decline in global crude oil prices, a significant reduction in petroleum product prices is expected in Pakistan, starting April 16, 2025, for the next 15 days.

According to industry sources, consumers may receive welcome relief at the pumps, with petrol prices estimated to drop by Rs8.27 per litre. Diesel prices could also fall by Rs7 per litre.

In addition, the price of kerosene oil may decrease by Rs 7.47, while light diesel oil could see a reduction of Rs 7.21 per litre, sources from oil marketing companies revealed.

Currently, petrol is being sold at Rs254.63 per litre and diesel at Rs258.64 per litre across the country.

The anticipated price cut comes as global oil markets experience sustained downward pressure, offering the government an opportunity to pass on the benefit to domestic consumers. A formal announcement is expected from the Ministry of Finance ahead of the biweekly price revision.
