The President of the Awami National Party (ANP) in Sindh, Shahi Sayed, has stated that they would not allow Karachi’s conditions to deteriorate under any circumstances during his visit to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters in Bahadurabad.

During the press conference, Syed emphasized that Karachi’s problems are administrative rather than linguistic, despite attempts to frame them otherwise.

He identified education and unemployment as “the city’s foremost challenges,” pointing out that while there is a water shortage, the supply from tankers mitigates immediate dangers.

Syed criticized the quota system, which he said leaves qualified young people, including doctors and engineers, unemployed, and described these injustices as mentally paralyzing for the citizens.

He stressed that the essence of politics should be to address public issues and urged that Karachi be regarded as an integral part of Pakistan.

The President insisted that local institutions must operate on merit, not corruption, and highlighted the abundant resources available in Karachi that should provide employment opportunities.

MQM Chairman, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, noted the significance of Syed’s visit in light of the current national situation and Karachi’s struggles.

He emphasized that all parties share the responsibility for improving the country and that further troubles cannot be afforded.

Maqbool described the meeting as “pivotal for fostering linguistic harmony,” affirming MQM’s commitment to preventing any deterioration in the city’s conditions.

He praised Syed as a symbol of unity and reiterated that MQM views all language speakers as part of a single nation.

After the meeting, both parties pledged to continue their collaborative efforts to transform Karachi into a peaceful, dignified, and developed city.
