This development in the Mustafa Amir murder case, with the arrest and remand of the main suspect, is expected to lead to further revelations in the investigation.

Mustafa Amir, who went missing on January 6 from Karachi’s Defence area, was later found murdered. His mother filed a missing person’s report on January 7, and the case was upgraded to abduction for ransom after a ransom call was received on January 25.

On February 9, a raid on the suspect Armaghan Qureshi’s house led to a firefight, injuring two police officers. Armaghan was arrested but sent to judicial remand instead of physical remand, prompting an appeal by the Sindh Police. Initially, Armaghan claimed he disposed of Mustafa’s body in Malir, but later changed his statement.

Shiraz, Armaghan’s accomplice, was arrested after confessing that they killed Mustafa on January 6, burned his body in Hub, and disposed of it in Shiraz’s car. The body was later found and buried by a welfare organization. Murder charges were added to the case.

Authorities are still seeking Mustafa’s missing mobile phone and further details on the murder weapon. Investigations revealed a dispute over a girl, which led to the murder. The girl, who left for abroad on January 12, is being contacted via Interpol for further testimony.
