A blistering heatwave has swept across parts of Sindh and Balochistan, with temperatures reaching dangerously high levels on Sunday.

According to the latest reports, Nawabshah (Shaheed Benazirabad) and Dadu recorded the highest temperatures at a scorching 47°C, making them the hottest cities in the region. Moenjo Daro and Sibi followed closely, each registering 46°C, while Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Mithi sizzled at 45°C.

The intense heat is being felt across much of southern Pakistan, with the sun beating down relentlessly. Karachi also experienced blazing sunshine, adding to the discomfort of residents.

Authorities have advised people to take precautions against heat-related illnesses, stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak hours, and keep vulnerable populations — such as children and the elderly — safe from prolonged exposure.

The extreme temperatures are expected to continue in the coming days, raising concerns over public health and power demand.
