Barrister Aqeel: Pakistan’s security is the top priority, action in Afghanistan possible if needed
Senior PML-N leader Barrister Aqeel Malik has said that if evidence of terrorism emerges from Afghanistan, Pakistan could take action across the border in pursuit of its targets.
His remarks come a day after Defence Minister Khawaja Asif issued a strong statement, accusing Afghanistan of harbouring terrorists. He warned that if necessary, Pakistan would not hesitate to take action inside Afghan territory.
Khawaja Asif also criticised those opposing such measures, saying they were acting against Pakistan’s national interests.
His statement was seen as a direct response to PTI founder Imran Khan, who recently urged the government not to treat Afghanistan as an enemy and to avoid unnecessary conflict with “Muslim brothers.”
