The Punjab Health Department has acted against doctors at Jinnah Hospital Lahore who have been absent while still receiving salaries.

Six doctors from the Urology Department were found to be colluding to travel abroad, including one female doctor. They have been issued show-cause notices.

The health department has sent a letter requesting a response within seven days for action under the PEDA Act.

The letter highlights that these six doctors have been absent from their duties for an extended period while continuing to receive salaries, causing a loss of millions of rupees to the public treasury.
