A former nazim was shot dead, and his associate was injured in a gun attack by unidentified assailants in Peshawar’s Budhni area.

The victim, identified as Haji Hameed Gul, was killed in indiscriminate firing, while his companion sustained bullet wounds.

A delay in registering the case led to a protest by residents, who accused the police of negligence.

Tensions escalated as Chamakani and Akbarpura police stations reportedly disputed jurisdiction over the case, further angering the demonstrators.
