Terrorist attack in Bannu: Case registered at CTD police station

Charges include terrorism, murder, attempted murder, and explosives possession

A case has been registered against the terrorists involved in the Bannu Cantt attack and bomb blasts at the CTD police station in Bannu.

The charges include terrorism, murder, attempted murder, and use of explosive materials.

According to the FIR, 14 armed terrorists, disguised in burqas, carried out the attack.

The assault resulted in the martyrdom of nine security personnel, while 18 others sustained injuries.

Multiple explosions, including suicide bombings, rocked Bannu Cantt during the attack.

The FIR further states that nearby houses collapsed due to the blasts, causing casualties among women, children, and residents. Rescue teams, police, and locals rushed the injured and martyrs to the hospital.

The terrorists set six vehicles ablaze, while several others were damaged by gunfire.

The attackers also planted explosives inside the Cantt area, targeting offices.

On March 4, 2025, external militant elements attempted a cowardly terrorist attack on Bannu Cantonment.

In response, Pakistani security forces swiftly neutralised the threat, eliminating 16 terrorists, including Afghan nationals. The attack was reportedly planned in Afghanistan.

The assailants tried to breach the cantonment’s security, but the timely and brave action of Pakistani forces thwarted their plans.

In desperation, the terrorists rammed two explosive-laden vehicles into the cantonment’s perimeter walls.
