Nelle Diala, a flight attendant for Alaska Airlines, has spoken out about her dismissal for filming herself twerking at work, describing the punishment as “unfair” and “discriminatory.”

“I didn’t think that being so happy could lead to something like this,” Diala said in a recent interview with Inside Edition, where she shared her perspective on the incident.

She explained that she wanted to “boost her spirits and energise herself” for the day ahead.

The controversy began when Diala posted a TikTok video, now set to private, showing her dancing on an empty plane at 6am while waiting for the captain, who was delayed by two hours.

Diala expressed her devastation after being fired for a viral video. In the clip, she captioned, “Ghetto bih till I D-I-E, don’t let the uniform fool you,” as a celebratory dance marking the end of her probationary period.

“I was really proud of myself that I came so far,” Diala reflected on the moment. But her excitement was short-lived when Alaska Airlines terminated her employment just six months into her contract, leaving her heartbroken.

In an interview with the US news outlet, Diala shared her feelings of injustice, saying, “I put on a proud face every time I stepped on that plane, and for them to terminate me without giving me a chance, it just was unfair.” She added that the airline cited a violation of their social media policy as the reason for her dismissal.
