Sugar prices rise in Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar during Ramazan

Sugar prices have surged by Rs20-25 per kg across the country during Ramazan, with rates in Karachi and Lahore reaching Rs170 per kg, while Peshawar sees prices as high as Rs176 per kg.

Sources report that in the first six days of Ramazan, the retail price of sugar has increased by Rs15-20 per kg, bringing it to Rs170 per kg.

In the wholesale market, sugar now costs Rs160 per kg after a Rs6 increase.

Peshawar residents are also struggling with rising prices, as sugar is being sold at Rs164 per kg in the wholesale market and Rs175 per kg in retail.
