YouTube personality known as ‘Desert Drifter,’ Andrew Cross, died on Friday following a severe brain injury sustained in a car accident in January. He was 36.

His family made the decision to take him off life support on March 4 after he had been in critical condition since the incident on January 31 in Colorado.

Cross, who had amassed a following of half a million fans on his channel, was involved in a high-speed collision while stopped at a traffic light, which required emergency brain surgery to manage bleeding in his brain.

Despite medical interventions, his family reported that his chances of recovery were slim, leading them to conclude that continuing life support was not what Andrew would have wanted.

In a tribute on CaringBridge, his sister Jenna Spooner described his passing as “peaceful, surrounded by love and light.”

Fans have flooded social media with tributes, celebrating his adventurous spirit and his appreciation for Native American culture and history.
