The Punjab Home Department has released a list of banned organisations and unregistered charitable institutions, warning that individuals who provide support to such entities would face legal repercussions.

In its announcement, the Punjab Home Department urged citizens to refrain from donating to unregistered and banned charities.

Under the law, “assisting banned organisations is considered a crime, and those who do so will come under legal scrutiny.”

Registration with the Punjab Charity Commission has been mandatory for all charitable organisations operating in Punjab.

Citizens are encouraged to ensure their zakat, donations, and contributions are directed to institutions that are registered with the Punjab Charity Commission.

Verification of all registered organisations could be done through the QR code available on their certificates.
