Punjab authorities have banned the use of eight medications deemed “unsafe.”

The Chief Drug Controller Punjab has ordered pharmacies and medical stores to stop selling these drugs immediately.

The medicines, which are declared harmful, are as follows:

  • Flagyl, which is used for bacterial infections
  • Tramadol , used for various ailments
  • IV cannula
  • Metronidazole injection is used to treat serious bacterial infections

The decision follows the interception of seven batches of unregistered painkillers by Karachi customs officials.

The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan has prohibited the use of these specific batches and has directed drug inspectors to seize their stock.
