Sindh energy minister shares details of free solar panels distribution
Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has announced that 500,000 free solar panels would be distributed this year to eligible households.
“These solar panels will be allocated to residents in areas struggling with electricity access,” he said at the inauguration of an electricity supply project in Abdullah Rind Goth, Manghopir Town on Thursday.
“Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision is to ensure electricity for all.”
He mentioned that the distribution of 200,000 solar systems has already begun, and the initiative to provide the additional 500,000 solar systems would commence this year, targeting regions where electricity services are lacking.
Hussain stated that residents of Karachi would benefit from affordable electricity, with efforts to regularise villages. He highlighted that PPP Chairman Bilawal aims to ensure property rights for women in households.

The minister also mentioned plans for the solar park to offer technical training to local residents, creating job opportunities in the process.
Moreover, the provincial government is developing a 400-megawatt solar park, set to be completed by 2025.
