ASAP Rocky leaps into Rihanna’s arms after being acquitted in assault case
ASAP Rocky joyfully leaped into the arms of his partner, Rihanna, after being acquitted in an assault trial related to a 2021 shooting incident.
A video shared on X on Tuesday, February 18, captured the moment when the 36-year-old rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, rushed to embrace Rihanna immediately following the Los Angeles court’s verdict.
In the footage, a judge announces, “The jury finds the defendant, Rakim Mayers, not guilty,” prompting cheers from those in attendance. Rocky then dove over a partition to reach Rihanna, and the couple embraced in the front row of the courtroom.
In a moment filled with relief, Rocky was briefly seen wrapping an arm around a member of his legal team before swiftly making his way to Rihanna. The couple, who began dating in the summer of 2020, share two young sons, RZA, aged 2, and Riot, aged 18 months.
As A$AP Rocky embraced Rihanna, supporters nearby were seen jumping in excitement and wrapping their arms around the couple. Members of Team Rocky also displayed their emotions, wiping away tears and hugging each other in celebration.
The jury acquitted Rocky of two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic weapon after closing arguments concluded on Friday, February 14.
