The prime suspect and victim in the Mustafa murder case were childhood friends, another suspect, Shiraz, was quoted as saying in the interrogation report.

Amir, a Karachi resident, went missing on January 6, according to the police. His charred body was found in a car in Balochistan, they told reporters in a press conference on Friday.

Police added that they got to know about the death after a suspect made a shocking confession to them during the investigation.

As the story unfolded, investigators said on Saturday that the conflict leading to the missing person’s death arose from a dispute involving a girl.

A copy of the report, available with Aaj News, has claimed that Armaghan was also known as ‘Army’. According to Shiraz, the suspect and the victim attended the same school but lost contact after graduation.

Shiraz rekindled his friendship with Armaghan a year and a half ago, drawn in by the prime suspect’s new cars and considerable wealth.

The report further alleged that the prime suspect lived alone in a “luxurious bungalow and operated a call centre employing 30 to 35 people, including women.” It claimed that the bungalow housed three lion cubs. “Armaghan had a strong passion for firearms.”

Shiraz claimed that Armaghan hosted a party at his bungalow on New Year’s Night, which lasted from midnight to 3am and Mustafa did not attend the party.

On January 5, the prime suspect called another, Shiraz, to his bungalow. “When Shiraz arrived, a girl was also present with Armaghan, who had been involved in a dispute with her, evident from the blood on her feet. Shortly thereafter, Armaghan sent the girl back home in an online cab.”

It alleged that on January 6, Mustafa called Shiraz to bring him to Armaghan’s bungalow. “Mustafa handed Armaghan a bag, for which Armaghan paid him Rs150,000. But moments later, Armaghan suddenly became enraged, verbally abused Mustafa, and began to beat him with a stick.”

The interrogation report alleged that the prime suspect inflicted severe blows to the victim’s head and knees, causing him to bleed. “Subsequently, Armaghan picked up his rifle and fired two shots into the wall to further intimidate Mustafa,” it said, “Armaghan placed Mustafa in his vehicle and took him to Balochistan, where he set the vehicle, along with Mustafa, on fire.”
