Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasts cold, dry weather in most parts

‘Very cold weather’ expected in hilly areas

The Pakistan Meteorological Department said that cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country while “very cold weather” in hilly areas today (Sunday).

“Light rain [light snowfall over the mountains] is likely at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and northwestern Balochistan,” the PMD said in its daily weather update.

Cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country over the last 24 hours. But light rain/drizzle was recorded at a few places in upper Punjab and northern Balochistan.

One millimetre of rain was recorded in Punjab’s Sargodha and Balochistan’s Quetta and Samungli.

Moreover, the lowest temperature was recorded over the last 24 hours in Leh (-6), Gupis and Kalam (-5), Astore (-4), and Parachinar and Skardu (-3).

It added that mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country on Monday (tomorrow).
