Azam Swati released from Attock jail
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Azam Swati has been released from Attock Jail.
The former federal minister was finally granted release after receiving surety bonds.
Justice Sadaqat Ali of the Lahore High Court had issued orders for Swati’s release on bail three days prior, in connection with a case related to a political gathering in Sangjani.
Swati had been imprisoned in Attock Jail on charges filed at the Taxila police station. His release follows the completion of legal processes related to his bail application.
Azam Swati’s lawyers argued in court that the arrest was part of a political vendetta and that their client had spoken under the right to freedom of expression.
